Our new record, American Dreamland, came out last month and we have been on the road all spring playing the music, promoting the album, and meeting lots of great people. So far the tour has taken us to the west coast, from Seattle to Los Angeles, inland to Central Washington and Eastern Oregon, to Minnesota, down south to the Carolinas, three times to the nation's capital, and back to NYC for a fantastic album release show at Joe's Pub. I'll be heading to Michigan next week to play music from the album with members of the Hohner Institute of Percussion at a free outdoor concert at Alma College - sure to be a great time - and also give some interactive clinics with music students there.
If you missed it, or can't get enough, we'll be back with the full American Dreamland band for a special performance of the entire album at Galapagos Art Space in Brooklyn (July 16). This will be a double-bill with Clogs, a group I co-founded with Padma Newsome, Bryce Dessner, and Rachael Elliott, back in 2000! This will be a unique chance for Loop 2.4.3 to collaborate with this wonderful group, featuring some of my favourite musicians.
The 12" version of the album is now out and finding its way into groovy record shops around the country. You can always get it at our store. You can see regular updates and informal photos, etc. at our Facebook and Twitter pages - just easier to update on the move...
